Work begins on the Alfa Romeo Tonale
The Pomigliano factory will be closed from 3 to 28 August for the modernization work necessary for the production of the Tonale, arriving in 2021.
FULL EMPLOYMENT - In view of the arrival in production of the compact Alfa Romeo Tonale suv , whose arrival in dealerships is expected in the second half of 2021 , the Campania factory in Pomigliano d'Arco will stop to be updated: closing is from Monday 3 to Friday 28 August. According to union sources reported by the newspaper Il Mattino , the works will involve the bodywork, logistics and quality control departments, which will be improved, but the installation of new robots and mechanical grippers is also planned; the interventions follow those started in September 2019, when the factory stood still for six days. The FCA has allocated 1 billion euros for the renovation of Pomigliano, where the Fiat Panda will also continue to be produced, with the aim of achieving full employment for the approximately 4,500 workers.
ALSO HYBRID - The Alfa Romeo Tonale , of which a few months ago leaked the images visible on this page, which portray an alleged final version (see the photo gallery below), will be a rival to Audi Q3 Sportback, BMW X2 and Volvo XC40. If the appearance of the car in these photos is confirmed, we will see on the road a medium-sized SUV with a dynamic look, characterized by the large and typical Alfa Romeo grille, tapered front headlights and reduced rear window that gives impetus to the rear. embellished with horizontal headlights. Among the engines, in addition to the thermal ones, the hybrid system with external rechargeable batteries should not be missing. The mechanical basis should be shared with the Jeep Compass, but the chassis will have a tuning in line with tradition, which wants refined driving dynamics for Alfa Romeos.
